The course is Dual Enrolled with Shasta College: CIS 75 and CIS 73

Course: Digital Multimedia

Course Description: This semester class is designed to introduce students to the basics of using digital multimedia such as digital photos and graphics, and manipulating the multimedia using Adobe Photoshop for use on the web and personal computers. Students will be introduced to additional graphic arts programs, such as Adobe Illustrator and Indesign, to create illustrations, images and other graphics.

Units of Study:

  1. Understanding Adobe CS3 Basics including using the program’s menus, panels, preferences, file formats, and application workspace.
  2. Working with Basic Graphic Tools, Paths and Layers, Colors, Effects and Styles.
  3. Correcting, modifying pictures, and exploring advanced image techniques.
  4. Working with basic layout tools to insert text and graphic frames, objects, colors, type and tables.
  5. Working with Colors, Effects, and Styles
  6. Assembling and Printing Publications

 

Prerequisites: Computer Applications (CIS 1) or instructor approval.


College Credits:
This course is dual enrolled with Shasta College (CIS 75 and CIS 73) and students will receive two (2) college credits upon successful completion of the course at the conclusion of the semester.
