~ Computer Technology ~

College can be a rough place and tuition is getting higher each year. With this program, students have the opportunity to earn three college credits per class while still going to high school.

Instructor: Ann Jensen

Course Description: One year class designed for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Hands on class designed to teach students the skills and understanding in computers and software programs.


Objectives:
• Teach students skills and understanding in word processing, data base, spreadsheet, presentation software, desktop publishing, computer 10-key pad, and graphic software.
• To provide students with an understanding of telecommunications.
• To teach students the impact of computers on society and future as well as career and related occupations.
• To acquaint students with various computer applications related to business, including business communications, document processing, and file management.
• To instruct the students in proper organization of delivering oral reports.


Prerequisites:
• Have to be 16 years or older
• Have to have taken Computer Applications I, or have gotten approval from an instructor.

College Credits: For the course offered, three college credits are given as long as the student receives an A or a B in the class as well as a minimum grade of a C on the final. In order to obtain these college credits the student must start the process by taking three college credits, and then once the three credits are complete, the credits from your high school courses will be credited to your college transcripts.
